Generic Anchors: approximately 20%

Naked Links: approximately 25%

Brand Links (and Primary Keywords): approximately 50%

LSI & Partial Links: 5 %

Please keep in mind...... this is MY personal formula after researching and reading several SEO authority websites and working with Google and Bing. Feel free to vary the percentages as you see fit and monitor your progress with the various backlink checkers online. This is NOT a short term thing. It's a roadmap to success that takes months to see change, but is what the major websites use to create long-term authority websites that DOMINATE their competition down the road.

Ways to Create Backlinks

Now, that you know a great beginning method/formula for creating variation with backlinks and gaining the edge on you competition, I would recommend keeping a spreadsheet of your backlinks, where they appear and what type of the four mentioned above that you used. It's easy to lose track, trust me here!

Now, how to we get backlinks?

There are several promotion methods out there. This tutorial is really about what anchor text is and how you should create them. But, I always get questions on website promotion.

Write for the Top 5 Article Marketing Directories - yes, this has proven not to be as effective as it once was. But, several of the big article directories still hold value.

Blog Directories - same here, not as powerful as they used to be prior to Google Panda and Penguin updates, but still hold value.

Social Media Marketing - Join several .... Big note here: find GROUPS within them and participate and brand yourself in these groups as an authority and people will check your social profile and find your link and go to your website. ... this is pure targeted traffic that is highly to convert

Guest Posting - there is a lot of debate about this topic and when done wrong, sure it will stink and you'll look bad. BUT, when done correctly, VERY powerful. Contact website owners in your niche. Find out who the major influencers are and buddy up to them. Comment on their blogs and interact and then pitch a post with your anchor text backlink at the bottom of the article! I have done this successfully and my page authority is climbing.

As you can see, all I need to do now is copy that SHORT URL into Twitter or Facebook and precede it with some text inviting folks to visit my Wealthy Affiliate review page and you're done!
