Copywriters are looking to fill a need or desire. When they sell, they push only benefits. As a real estate salesman told me once, “I have never been able to sell a negative.”

They love telling sob stories that are supposed give you an affinity for the “hero” of the story, the person who developed the product he is pitching. The writer wants you to think that you will soon be getting all of the benefits that the “hero” is now enjoying.

And then they pile on the testimonials by the dozens. There is never too many. And after they have shown you the benefits of the product in ten differnet ways, they will try to bribe you into buying it by giving you gobs of stuff you don’t really need.

The always offer a guarantee so that you can get your hard earned money back.

And if they have convinced you, they will make the sale.

Here Is The Point

If you are spending all your efforts to driving folks to a vendor’s site so that you can gain sales commissions, that site had better be A Site That Sells. You should do what ever you have to do to find out if the site sales and the affiliates are making money. You will want to talk to the affiliate manager, won’t you.

Now, when you read the crap on the site, does it make YOU want the product? If it can’t do that, forget it. You will have no passion for the product and it will reflect in all of your warm-up efforts.

If folks are going to the vendor’s site and are not buying, then the site is like a leaky bucket, letting profits drain away.

Don’t ever focus on the process of funneling without focusing on where you are sending your readers.
