Adding Tags

Look on the right side for the word 'tags' and click the little arrow next to it.

Once that area opens, start adding words and phrase that are relevant to your lens. When you need another space for a new tag, click 'add more tags'. You can have up to 40 tags. You don't need to use them all, but try and get about 15-20.

Also, some people say that having your primary tag (the main one listed up top) also included in your 'other tags' area helps... so do this too if you think about it.

When you're done, click save. Then click 'save draft' (we sure don't want to risk losing our work!)- and then click 'publish'.

About The Squidoo Bio Area

Every Squidoo lens (web page on the Squidoo.com site) has what's called a lensmaster bio area.

The lensmaster bio area is a very important area of a lens that many, MANY lensmasters over look or don't take seriously. To me, it is so important that I am going to make SURE that each of you create a default bio so we are positive your lenses will each have one.

While you can change the bio area on each lens individually, you can also set up a 'default bio' that will automatically be put on each lens. You can change it to suit a individual lens, but this way you know there will be one on each lens no matter what.

This is important - please do not skip this step.

To change the bio picture and text for all your lens - and to pre-populate it for any future lenses you make - go to your Squidoo dashboard and click the link at the top that says 'my profile'.

Click 'change' next to your Default Photo and then next to your Default Bio... fill each in with the image/text you want.

Again, this can be changed at any given time to don't obsess about it.

The photo you add can be of anything you want - it doesn't have to be your photo. It can a picture of your dog, a graphic, a cartoon, a clipart image....anything you want (as long as it's not x-rated or generally offensive).

Getting Paid -

Also on the 'My Profile' tab if you scroll down you will see a place to enter your PayPal email id. If you'd like to get paid by Squidoo, be sure to enter your PayPal id here.

Squidoo shares part of its advertising revenue with its members. While Squidoo lenses do not typically earn a lot, it's free money and that is good money in my book =)

There are also eBay, Amazon, and some other "earnings modules" that you can use on your lens. In short, if someone buys something thru your lens when you use one of those modules, Squidoo will split the commission with you.

Those earnings that are due to you will show on your Squidoo dashboard to the right of your lens name(s).
