4. Make Use of Headlines
A lot of bloggers find it difficult to capture their post idea in just one sentence. If you have the right heading, then users will be able to locate you really fast.
Your headline should show the answer to the search query a user has typed in the search box. Having a catchy headline does a lot in driving traffic to your site.
Now, the right headline should have your target keyword in it. In fact, put it in the first part of your headline. This will help Google locate it as it searches for the best content that satisfies the search intent. With the keyword in your headline, it becomes easy for Google to take note of your content.
Also, most searches on the internet are “how-to” searches. If you have prepared a list-based article, it becomes easier to bring up your article as it directly has what has been searched for. It’s been noted that 36% of people show a preference for list-based headlines.
Your headline’s word count also matters. Google may not find it easy to understand the relevance of a post with a short headline. However, a long headline will give a better understanding of your content. Headlines with about 6-13 words tend to attract more traffic than headlines with fewer words.
Excellent training, thank you and I have this bookmarked.
The "how to...", I'm really glad you brought that up because I keep forgetting that headline. I can see using the "How to" like "how to rank in Google", or "how to be your own boss"... but what about when I'm doing reviews?
