Now it's time to make this thing work and look like something other than a grid of hash tags. In this picture you can see I've assigned the rows and columns numbers. Instead of pinning the tail on the donkey, I would pinpoint where each state/providence abbreviation was supposed to be on the table.
For example, 03:34: Maine (ME) goes here. ... 08:35 Massachusetts (MA) goes here outside of the map because it won't fit inside the state. All the New England states I had to do this with. Later, I would do this with the Canadian providences above and off the map.
To save even more time with this, I copied and pasted the entire top section and pasted it over the existing sections of the code to produce this...
Now there would be no mistake where these abbreviations were supposed to go. This was quick and easy...
Yes! Now I can remove all the hash characters!
Aaargh!!! Now what happened!!! ... I thought I had it licked... Note some lines just got double-wide. that gave me a clue...
You have definitely accomplished what you set out with this motivational lesson.
Brilliant job.
I'm grateful you shared this. Obstacles will eventually cross our paths along this IM journey; your story serves as an inspiration (as you meant it) to push ahead and work our way through.
Thank you so much.
In a perfect world where we start out with a good deal of money, we can just assign the idea or task and have it done, but here we are as you said having to wear many hats until we reach a certain knowledge and experience level.
I like having to learn in the rough as you have shown in your tutorial, knowledge seems to stick better in my brain that way.
Thank you for taking the time to share your journey and the lesson that goes along with it, I appreciate you. :)
