I know a number of people will shake their heads at why I spent so long building this template. It could be I did put too much time into it. The problems we face when delving into something often does take more time than we've accounted for. We should ALWAYS bank on things happening and do our best to cover them in our planning. I didn't here. I just shot for it and these things just came up.
Albeit, as I get more proficient at this type of thing myself, I'm still doing it "ballpark."
Sometimes, learning comes with a bigger pricetag than we've banked on.
I put this here so folks can see that, online business is like this. There's a learning curve to it and it takes time to get it all together, just like I did with the interactive map I featured on here. Many people would just quit if the problems kept coming up like they do.
It took me nine years of working at online marketing before I started making some kind of income with it. It's only been this year, but it's consistent.
We all have our sets of quirks and quagmyers. That's why some of us "get it" faster than others. We all have our battles that we must win. Compensation for areas of life in which we find lack in. All we can do is keep on truckin' and strengthen our weakenesses.
In any business, the idea is to get a team together and bring experts in different areas into the business to take care of the things you, the owner, are lagging in. That's the way of successful businesses.
But for now, we must be the one who wears all the hats. We do it all. We have to, until we can fund the help we need in our businesses. This is the way Wealthy Affiliate started and it's the way most every business starts.
I hope you enjoyed this Resource. I can't really call it a "tutorial" but it is motivational. It was as much fun building this (and took nowhere near as long as the project!) We all go at our own pace. Never measure yourself up to other people. Work with what you have and know that it's not what you have - it's how you use it.

The site that this is on has been sitting and it's a sister site to one that doesn't belong to me. This is a directory site for alternative medicine practitioners and I have no idea yet how to pull this off.
I do have learning materials.
We have maps to show us where something is that we otherwise would not be able to find. When we start out, we must put faith on maps to get us there because we can't see around the first bend nor past the headlights of our automobile.
I agree with you about maps. In a sense, they are something that we all should be using to guide us through the development of our businesses. Helping us keep on track and keeping us on the right road to success.
It starts with an idea. Then it goes to planning out how this idea can be manifested into reality. From here it's setting goals (I didn't do this here and should have.) Finally it's implementing this thing out until it's there. From here on, it's improving what's there already.
I'm grateful you shared this. Obstacles will eventually cross our paths along this IM journey; your story serves as an inspiration (as you meant it) to push ahead and work our way through.

In a perfect world where we start out with a good deal of money, we can just assign the idea or task and have it done, but here we are as you said having to wear many hats until we reach a certain knowledge and experience level.
I like having to learn in the rough as you have shown in your tutorial, knowledge seems to stick better in my brain that way.

This thing is primitive, but it does exactly what I need it to do. Today I will build a prototype page that will come off the map when someone clicks on one of the links. This will ensure there are no problems with adding hyperlinks into the table. I don't expect there will be any problems, but not known until it is attempted.
Since Florida is my home state, I will probably do it to that one first off.
