What is Off-Page SEO?
Let me ask first, do you know about on page SEO? You must have known about off-page SEO, then. Off-page SEO simply means all the activities performed outside your website to have it promoted in search engine result pages (SERPs).
A lot of blog owners believe quality backlinks is the only technique of off-page SEO! Sad to say, it isn’t the only technique for improving SEO as most people think. Off-page SEO has more elements than building links, some of which include social media marketing and others.
However, high-quality backlinks are the dominant part of off-page SEO practices. It adds more credibility and recognition to your site than any other off-page SEO components.
Your site will be regarded as a credible one if search engines find that you get some quality backlinks from high Domain Authority websites like .gov, .edu.
Identifying High-Quality Backlinks
It’s important to identify high-quality backlinks because 1 – 2 high-quality links can have a greater impact on SEO than 50 – 100 low-quality backlinks. So, it’s better to focus on getting high-quality backlinks than gathering a ton of low-quality links around.
The quality of a backlink basically depends on the relevance of the content of a website to yours and the domain authority of that site where those links came from. However, this isn’t the only factor influencing the quality of backlinks. There’s still a lot more! The next question you may want to ask now is “How do I get high-quality backlinks from those highly respected sites?”
