Now let us understand the first three pages (Front page, Home page, Blog Roll)
FRONT PAGE
You are likely to get confused with the three types of pages namely, Front Page, Home Page and Blog Page.
Just follow me to clear your confusion.
The moment you access your site, you are landed on a page every time. This is your ‘Front Page’.
This is the page which is created by default on your initiating the site.
When you accessed your site for the first time, before making any posting, you may have seen that your ‘Front Page’ contained the words ‘Hello World’.
LET US UNDERSTAND THIS AS FOLLOWS:
Your ‘Front Page’ may be static or a ‘Blog Roll’. By default it is made a ‘Blog Roll’. In fact, this is your ‘Blog page’ where you can make postings on continuous basis and these postings are displayed there on reverse chronological order.
Now, you may have any of the following problems:
1. Your ‘Front page’ is a blog role but it is not shown anywhere in your top menu.
2. You expected some page named as ‘Home Page’, but there is nothing like that
3. You want to name your ‘Front page’ as ‘Home’ and you want to make it a ‘Blog Roll’
4. You want to name your ‘Front Page’ as ‘Home’ and you want to make it static (Containing fixed content which is not changed)
Let us try solve these issues in the following manner
First take a decision whether you want your front page to be static or a ‘Blog Roll’.
In a static page you may put some content which you want, every visitor should know about you and your site. In this case, you will create another page which will be your ‘Blog Roll’.
Let us first think that you want your ‘Front Page’ to be a Blog Role and you want to give it a name as ‘Home Page’ (I also wanted so). Let us see on the next slide how to do it.
Front page to be named as ‘Home’ and it is a ‘Blog Roll’
