What do You Get with Local SEO ?

Okay, I showed you a refresher of what your site will appear like in the normal search engine results pages (SERPs).

Not bad, right?

Well, what if you could show more?

What if you could show your favorite Images, details, social links, etc.

Registering your website with local SEO can help.

Now, you're likely thinking, "Sure, Peej, but what will that do? How is it different?"

Well, as usual, I'm so glad you asked.

What if you could show this instead?

Google:

Bing:

As you can see, much more information is provided.

It's inviting, engaging and creates credibility and trust. This can open the door to relationship building andlong-term customers.

Also, here is my Bing Places dashboard that nicely shows traffic to my business listing:

Pretty cool, huh?

Okay, so now, you're likely saying to yourself....

"Wow! Peej, that's awesome! I WANT ONE!!!!"

Well, okay, calm down there Skippy! LOL! I'm going to give you the information on the next page!

Is this only for U.S residents please?

I'd say it would work in other territories also, but I expect PJ will give you the definitive answer when he comes on here himself.

I don't really think so, because when I tried to set up one, the only options are for U.S residence.

Thanks for this PJ it is great training.

I used Google Places when I was running a virtual secretarial business and it worked well because I was targeting local businesses.

I am wondering, because I live in New Zealand but my affiliate marketing sites target USA, would using Google Places for local marketing have a detrimental effect on my global outreach?

From what I understand there is a "not a local business" option in there and you can still set something up - it might be a redirect to a Google Business page though, not sure.

Thanks PJ for your response. I will look at Google Places again. It is quite some time since I went on Google Places so I should refresh my knowledge. And thanks to you for rekindling this Google feature that I had forgotten about.
