5. Call to Action (CTA)
This is usually placed at the end of your body copy. Place it at the bottom of your landing page. It is useful to let your audience know the next step to take. Do not be in a hurry to place the call to action.
Make sure that your audience has fully understood the whole content on your landing page and has been convinced enough to make the much-desired decision. You should allow the call to action to stand out and be seen as what it is – a call for the audience to take the next right decision which is a buying decision.
You can make the background of the call to action to be different from the other parts of the landing page. Bright, attractive, and captivating colors would do well. Place a button within it that your prospect can click on to take them to the next part of the action.
So, on your landing page, make sure you have:
- A unique proposition that is made up of your main headline, the sub-headlines, and a reinforcing statement. The message of the main headline should be compelling enough to make the audience know that they have arrived on the right page and what you have for offer is exactly what he needs. The sub-headlines are meant to give more clarification or to expatiate on the main headline and add a more persuasive effect to the main headline. As your audience goes through your content, your product should be well introduced and defined especially with the use of pictures as pictures can give more effect to your words
- You can win over your prospect with the body when you take him through what he stands to gain from using your product or service and what he may lose out on if he skips your offer. You may wish to itemize different problems alongside the solution that your product or service is offering for that problem. You can use images of before and after use of your product. If you are sure that you have done a good job of trying to convince your prospect, then it is time for a call to action. You let him see that he needs to take action to move onto the next stage.
Conclusion
Landing pages are different from home pages because landing pages are strictly meant for reaching out to prospects and enlightening them about the product or service that you are offering.
Using the information in this tutorial, it is possible to create a very compelling landing page that can expose your prospect to the details of a product which can lead to conversions and, subsequently, sales.
To make sure I understood your message if we are writing a content about dog food, we should provide as much information as possible to make them a buying decision. How about the prize? Should it be mentioned in that content or in the drop down minus categorized by age for example? Or it should be mentioned in the content?
With regards to the CTA, I believe one button should go at the top or middle of the promotion and another at the end. Some are more impulsive than others and want to jump into action. I'm perhaps one of them. If I am convinced about the product or service I dont want to scroll down very long text to find the CTA button.
The alternative is to have good sub headings and pictures as you mention to be able to skim read.
What are your views on this! Thanks again and have a nice day. Marisa
