My Sequence to the Writing Pitch That Landed the Gig

Before I won my first genuine writing Gig, I was engaged in certain activities that led into building an online presence.

Being a new freelance writer, you need to discern there are tons of content writers online. So, you must devise tactics for standing out from the crowd and getting noticed quickly.

To ensure I get noticed out of the tons of freelance writers out there, I:

  • Started submitting guest posts to industry authority bloggers
  • Transferred my profile from Upwork – to my own WordPress site
  • Started commenting thoughtfully on authority blogs in my specialty
  • I created more social media profiles like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Started posting consistently on my blogs

Despite all of these, I still had to struggle with how and where to pitch. I guessed I’ve had to send not less than 40 pitches before I won my first writing Gig. So, don’t feel like you’ve been the only writer sending dozens of failed pitches. I did experience the same.
