welcome back,

The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

Three different styles of Feedback

Ok, so let's jump right in and begin with three styles of Feedback. All have been scored on a scale of 1 to !0

The Good

The "Sandwich" Method

Score 10/10

This style of feedback is what has often been referred to as "the Sandwich method", and has remained my fav method of offering critique, whether face to face or online.

It consists of Three separate levels, let's look at it applied to Feedback

1) The bottom slice.

This is where you begin, by letting the person know what you found appealing, and interesting about their site

2) The salami and cheese

Here is where you make note of what you've noticed about the site, that could use some improvement. Offer up some solutions

3)The top slice

Do your best to close your feedback with a positive thought, by mentioning another positive attribute you noticed. Using this method, you are also empowering the recipient.

Practical Example

The Bad

Critical Method

This type of feedback is not very encouraging to someone who's just starting up, it doesn't leave much to brighten up someone's day, who as a beginner might be struggling, and maybe even thinking of throwing in the towel.

Score 6.5/10

The Ugly

Nil Meritas

Score 0/10

This type of Feedback contributes little to nothing, as it offers no constructive criticism. I do at times forward a friendly PM to the sender :)

I think it's important to ask ourselves, what quality feedback are we hoping to receive, and offer up exactly that.

Next we will explore 3 styles of commenting,

If you have any questions or comments, please leave them below. I'll be pleased to Answer and/or respond.

Thanks:)

Generally, we shouldn't comment much on the design and format as these are individual's liking. Google loves rich and unique contents with photo images and linkings for top rankings of our websites and this is somethings we need to remind each others should we fall short of them.

Joseph. Thanks for such an inclusive training on a sore subject that often appears on our WA blog central. This will definitely be a useful tool going forward to refer people to when there's any confusion. Geoff.

Hi Jozeph!
Actually , I'm on Lesson 9, but I have two questions:

First about those four boxes to check off, so the privacy policy does't get ranked. How do I Save them, they're in the SEO section?

Second: when I want to pre-publish, without Google seeing, which Publish button do I use?

Thanks so much for your time!

They're saved when you publish the page, and also, when you have something in draft mode, it is also 'not seen.' If you want to Publish without Google seeing you use the same four boxes.
