Do you want to increase web visitors with Pinterest and, then, direct them to your site? This tutorial provides ways to earn more traffic to your site using Pinterest.
1. Sign Up For a Business Account on Pinterest
Pinterest offers different types of services depending on the type of account you own.
Rich pins, promoted pins, access to Pinterest Analytics, and commercial use of Pinterest are all services offered to a business account only. That is why you need to first create a business account and its cost is completely free.
Or if you have a personal account already, why not convert it to a business account?
Convert Your Personal Pinterest Account to a Business Pinterest Account
If you already have a personal Pinterest account but have decided to own a business profile, you can simply convert your existing personal account to a business account using a desktop while you keep your followers and pins.
If you have created a linked business account already, you can no longer convert your personal account to a business account. You will have to delete the linked business account first and then convert your account.
- Sign in to your personal account
- In the top right-hand corner, open the menu by first clicking the directional chevron down icon
- Choose Settings
- Select Account settings through the left-hand side navigation
- Scroll down to look for Account changes, and then select Convert account
- Hit the Continue button
After creating or converting your account, you need to confirm your website to see people visiting from Pinterest.
2. Create Pins That Directs To Helpful Resources
In early 2016, an algorithm was made by Pinterest which affected how pins are shown to users on their home feed.
Based on my observation, it looks like Pinterest focuses on showing pins that will lead to blog posts and valuable resources.
Beautiful images that do not lead to a site are shown less. So do well to create a blog that has pinnable images.
It’s a paid tool though. But it has been great. Belonging to a competitive niche, one can supplement the traffic by doing Pinterest SEO.
Thanks for this blog. I signed up for a business Pinterest account, but then they billed me every month (at the tune of $900.00 total for six months), for their "ad campaigns". I finally decided to turn my account into a personal account because I simply cannot afford to pay this much for Pinterest.
