Hash Tags on Facebook

Facebook hashtag's have the same function as they do on Twitter and that is tying all subject conversations into one stream. however where they differ from twitter and also Instagram to some extent is when a Facebook user has an account set to private, posts with hash tags will not show up in the public domain as the account and all that is in it is private.

The result therefore is most of the hash tagged articles you find in said streams are posted by marketers and branded companies.

If you want to post an article with a hashtag in facebook you need to make sure that post is published as a public post.
