It is always good practice to upload and delete your themes and plugins via FileZilla because some do not fully delete via WordPress, in which case you become susceptible to hackers.

take some time to move around those folders inside Filezilla because you'll soon get to know what should and shouldn't be there.

I once found some unusual files. As a precaution before deleting them I decided that I'd download them to my PC, but as I did my Antivirus warned me that they were indeed virused.
