If you are using a hosting account that has cPanel admin and the nameserver for your domain has been set to this hosting provider, you can follow the steps below to add or make changes to your A records:
- Login to your cPanel area
- In the "Domains" section, look for the "Advanced DNS Zone Editor" item.
Inside the Advanced DNS Zone Editor, you can add an A record or edit existing ones.
To add a new A record, fill in the fields in the "Add a Record" section, as in below:
Name - enter the subdomain in full, like: mysubdomain.nimrodflores.com
*Some hosts require that you put a dot at the end of the name, like in the case of my screenshot above, my existing Zone File Records have a dot at the end.
TTL - The "Time to Live" value indicates the amount of time the record is cached by a DNS Server, such as your Internet service provider. The widely accepted value is 14400 seconds (4 hours).Type - This tutorial is about A records only, so make sure you select "A" for the type.
Address - This is where you enter the IP address of the server that will host the files (resources) for this subdomain that you are adding.
To edit / update an existing A record, under the "Zone File Records":
Click "Edit" on the A record you want to edit. The form in the screenshot above will expand so that you can update the details for that particular A record.
I think it would really help if you added Weathly Affiliates IP address that is needed for making an A Record.
I did eventually find it here ip address for ns1mywahostingcom But other than that, this lesson really helped me when my hosting company couldn't.
Thanks & keep up the great work
