Step 2: Install the Analytics Tracking Code on Your Website

Having got your Google Analytics tracking code, it is high time you got it up and running on your website.

Without any controversy, the installation process is simple. The Analytics Global Site Tag must fire on all of the pages on your site once they’ve started loading. When the page loads, your Google Analytics Global Site Tag records all data about the visitor and will have it sent to your Google Analytics account. So, when you log in your account, you’ll see these reports appear in your account.

There are a couple of options to run the installation process on all of the pages of your website. The option you’re going to choose is based on your Site Builder.

WordPress Sites

If you’re a WordPress site owner, you have a couple of options to have Google Analytics installed on your site.

The complete easiest and fastest way is to install some Google Analytics integrated plug-ins like All-in-One SEO pack on your WordPress website.

Once you’re done installing the plug-in, just head on to the plugin general settings and locate where to add your Tracking ID.

An alternative way is heading to your WordPress theme settings. Several WordPress theme editors have the option to edit header scripts. This is exactly where you need to paste any code snippet into the site header.

This code snippet loads on all pages. Installing marketing tools such as Analytics on your website is extremely simple and easy. Once you’ve been sure of this that your WordPress theme allows you to add header scripts, simply paste (if already copied) your Google Analytics tracking code into the editor and click to save the settings. Then you’re good to go.

I always prefer to install my Google Analytics Global Site Tag using the WordPress theme editor, so I won’t have to worry about installing too many plug-ins for that purpose.

However, if you can’t still install Google Analytics on your site using the theme header, you still have the option to leverage those plug-ins anytime.

Thanks Israel, I have been having trouble with this since October. I have just added the tag to my header in Theme Editing and will see if it works now over the next couple of days.

Your training is excellent.
