Step 1: Obtain Your Google Analytics Tracking Code

Once again, setting up a Google Analytics account is completely free and anyone can benefit from it.

Let me walk you through the process of setting up your own account, helping you set up a few basic things correctly in Analytics, and show you precisely where you can find your Analytics tracking code (This is the Global Site Tag)

First, visit this page.

You’ll be prompted to sign in your Google Account. A G-Suite or Gmail account would be okay to get you going. Otherwise, you’ll have to create a new Google account which is quite easy to go by.

While going through the Google Analytics registration process, Google will ask you a few basic questions regarding your website.

Once you’re done creating your Google account, you’ll be redirected to to your Google Analytics tracking page.

Now, you must have seen the Global Site Tag which is exactly what you are looking for. This is the tracking code which tracks all the stuff on your website once you’ve successfully installed it.

Just take proper note of your tracking ID for certain WordPress plugins or site builders will continually send some data to Analytics on your behalf once you’ve added your tracking ID to their sites. Henceforth, if you’re required to supply your Google Analytics tracking ID, you should be able to locate that without much of a stretch.

At this juncture, you don’t need any extra thing to configure in that account. You’re set to move right away to the next step.

Thanks Israel, I have been having trouble with this since October. I have just added the tag to my header in Theme Editing and will see if it works now over the next couple of days.

Your training is excellent.
