In this quick video tutorial I'll show you how to set up your website with a static home page, or landing page, instead of the default blog roll.

Awesome! Great training!

Question: Can you do a tutorial on how to add the "special video or tutorial links" that everyone uses, for example to send someone to this tutorial? I've been here 17 months and I still cannot figure out how to do it? Embarrassed but gotta learn!

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. What special links are you talking about? Are you talking about how they look like this?: All you do is go up top to the address bar and copy and paste the URL into any forum here or in live chat. The URL turns into the title of the link after you publish it. You don't have to do s thing :)

I understand the concept but when I'm in Live Chat the frame overlaps the URL....this is such a frustration for me....the Copy and Paste bits are always my downfall...even with a mouse!

Thank You

Great training on static pages, I am sure many people will understand this much easier now. Maybe I will add a static page to my websites soon, it does make the website seem more friendly and professional.

I think it's totally a personal preference. I know many have asked so I put this together to try and help. Thank you very much for checking it out. I appreciate that.

This is interesting. We can only learn so much in training. I had no idea about Dashboard/Settings/Reading.

I like the way mine is right now but at least I know I can change my landing page from the blog roll to this way.

Thanks for the training it was really easy to understand. I always take notes and did with this also.

I'm really glad you got some benefit from this and thank you for letting me know it was easy enough to understand. I'm always worried that people will watch a tutorial of mine and be like "what in the world is he even talking about?" lol. Thank you!

Haha it's true, you don't know if you are explaining it thoroughly enough. Yes you are, no worries.

Sometimes what we write can be misunderstood by others when communicating this way.

If they don't get it they can comment and ask.

You are welcome :)

Good stuff. I've learned that a lot of this you just have to play around with. The more you use it the better you get. Thanks for taking the time for the training.

Absolutely. Don't be afraid to tinker with your site especially in the early times when you're just building it. Later as it starts to develop content and traffic you'd of course want to be more careful with it so you don't break it, lol, but just like you said, you learn a lot just by playing around with it. Stick to the training brother, Kyle is a great teacher! thanks for checking out the video.
