Hello msant21. KatieMac is correct. You can monetize at any time.

Hello, do i have to have a minimum of views or subscribers for setting the monetization on my videos? Or can i monetize them even if its a new channel and has just a few views?

you can still monetize your site as far as aware you do not need min. views, just keep promoting your channel

Hi msant21,

KatieMac is absolutely correct. You can monetize no matter how many views you have.
Sorry for the delay. I've been preparing to leave to meet my new grand daughter and have been so busy trying to get everything in order.
Thank you so much KatieMac for answering. That's why I love this community. Everyone has each others back. :)

Hi Audrey can just apply Goggle Adsense for Youtube channel only?

Hi Cena,
No, Google Adsense if for both Ads on your site and Ads on your YouTube videos. Once you have an account with Google AdSense then you also have the ability to place ads on your site that will make you money as well.
So if you allow Google to place these ads on your site and a visitor clicks on an ad then you make money from it.
Just like your YouTube videos.

Hi Audrey!
Firstly, thanks for bringing this to light! Don't tell me I wasn't making adsense all this time b/c I didn't connect my adsense account...ugggggh :( (I had the greeen "$" signs next to my videos so I thought the ads were "live" ...boo hoo hoo)

Oh well. Hey, do you know if "Hosted Adsense for Content" takes a while to show up...b/c I connected my account and I don't see that?

I'm not sure if connecting a different Adsense account to a different Youtube account has anything to do with that missing.

Do you know?

Thanks,
Charlie

Charlie,
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but if you didn't have your Google Adsense account linked to your YouTube then you lost out on any money you made. I had all the green dollar signs also, thinking that I was making the money but since it wasn't hooked to my adsense account I missed out.
They also don't go back and give you that money. It's from the day you hook up the two accounts that is when you will start seeing the Hosted Adsense for Content numbers and start making money.

How many views are your videos receiving? I know with mine I started seeing like $0.12 then $0.56 a day. I've been adding more and more videos so my views are going up along with the money I'm making off of them.

I hate that you lost any money but I'm glad from this day on you won't lose any more. ;)

Hello Again Audrey:
It could have been worse. You could have never broke the news (to me). So, thanks again for this. I think I've only had a couple thousand views anyway (total) so it's not like I would have made a fortune ;)

Anyway, I looked in my AdSense account under Products and I only see:
AdSense for Content
Average
Totals

I don't see "Hosted Adsense for Content." I was just wondering if you knew how long it takes to show up?

-Charlie

Ahhhhh, I just thought of this. Could it be that I don't have any views recorded yet...and, thus, they are not showing the "AdSense For Content" category yet?

Yep Charlie, that is probably exactly why you don't see anything in there yet.
Give it about a week and you should start seeing some movement in your Google Adsense. ;)

Hey Audrey...forget about a week, it's there already! :) Three clicks already. From the initial CTR, it looks like AdSense for video performs better than my websites.

Have you noticed that? I'm sure that certain types of videos get better (ad) CTR's, huh?

10-Q Again,
Charlie

You go Charlie!!! I'm so happy for you. Yes, I do notice that my videos yield more income than the ads on my site however silly me didn't even have ads on my site and my site is finally garnering over 2,500 people a month.
I lost out on money there too. :( I've only had the ads on my site now for 2 weeks so I'm definitely watching the numbers to see which one will bring me more revenue.

Not sure if you're interested but I follow a young lady named Amy on YouTube and she is doing a 30 day challenge in August to get people use to being in front of the camera. Check out her video and see if it's something you might be interested in. We all know that video is getting pretty big so why not join the movement. :)

Oh and you're very welcome. Glad I could help someone else not lose out on money. :)

2,500 visitors can bring in a good chunk of change:) Hope those ads convert. If not, have fun figuring out what they want :)

I might have to PM you about that "getting in front of the camera" videos. I have an Idea I want to try but not right this moment. Until then, you take care, have fun with this YouTube monetization thing, and thanks again for all your help!

Aloha,
Charlie
