I find that some social media sites actually seem to work better on a mobile phone than they do on a desktop, although not always.
One of the best ways that I use mobile phone technology is to share or curate content across social media sites.
Curating Content
Social media is not just about you posting your own content, it is about sharing other content and building a following as well.
Why do you need to share other's content? - well;
- It widens your own thinking and shows you have a genuine interest in the subject.
- Sharing other's work builds networks and people are then more likely to share your work.
- It offers your own readers a change and different viewpoints, which saves them having to search all these different sites.
When do you find time to read and curate content? On a mobile this widens opportunities.
- So anytime you stop or are having to hang around -( which if you have kids can be very often,) then you can read Twitter feeds or Facebook feeds, with the purpose being to share at least 2 articles and then move onto another site.
- If you take a photo for later use on your website, just upload it to Instagram first and add that an article will be coming shortly. (like my dirty pony that rolled in all the mud - might as well entertain everyone on Facebook and Instagram as well!)
- LinkedIn is another site I also read feeds on and like or share articles.
Digital marketing is all about researching and reading topics and much of this can be done from social media platforms.
But by liking the articles and re-sharing them onto your own social media sites it takes very little time and can make a difference in building authority, followers and trust with readers.
Like every aspect of an online business it is a mindset of organisation and seeing this as a vital part of building a business. But build it up slowly and steadily and don't expect too much too soon, in time it will start to come together and be manageable.
