You can do that too. It saves time when you can have social media networks linked. But yes, that is perfectly fine.

Good to know, isn't there a Wordpress plugin that can add posts to your website and social media as we'll, but I like your method better.

There probably is a plugin, but this is simple enough, that you can save on your plugin bandwidth (if that is a word). The more plugins you have on your website, the more problems you might encounter and the slower it might run.
