Upon activation, you can create a new post or page, or you can edit an existing one.
The point: you'll see a new "Mammoth .docx converter" metabox below the post/page editor:
And is pretty straightforward ... Simply click the "Choose File" button to select a .docx file from your computer. Here's a screenshot with my original Word document:
And here's the imported result in Wordpress after I've selected the file from ny computer:
As you can see, everything is there and everything is in the right place. I have the image, the link, the paragraph and the bulleted list.
Of course, Wordpress will ignore things like text or background color, padding, margin, etc. All these elements will be controlled by your theme’s stylesheet. But you have successfully imported your complete .docx file (with images, URLs, etc included) into Wordpress, preserving all the main formatting elements (paragraphs, spacing, lists, etc).
As you can see in the above image, the plugin will show you three different views for the selected document. On the "Visual" tab, you'll see how the Word document will look on your Wordpress site.
If you select the "Raw HTML" tab, you'll be able to see the HTML code generated by the converter:
Under the "Messages" tab you can see if there were any warnings or errors during the conversion.
