I was trying to search here in WA if anybody has created training on how to create table of content in wordpress and I can't find one. So I decided to create this tutorial and hopefully it will help those who are searching for similar training.
What is Table of Content
Table of content is basically an index of your content. In wordpress scenario, it is the list of segments in your article and this works for posts, pages .
Why You Need Table of Content on your post/page?
Table of content is very useful in certain scenarios (not all scenarios).
- when you have a long article on your post/page. Navigation to specific segment is much easier if you have table of content on top of your article as your readers might interested in certain segment of the article.
- Reading through a very long article can be boring and visitors who are looking for only certain part of the article might leave your site. However, with the table of content. your visitors can jump to the segment he is interested most. This will help to reduce the bounce rates of your site.
- Table of Content is very useful when you are conduction courses or training inside your website.
