A compelling headline, engaging content and great graphics may not get you the sale. That's because your audience goes through buyers' journey while consuming your content, and at the tail end of the content, expect you to proffer the next step to take.

Ever read through a nice piece of content only to conclude not knowing what to do next? The reason is that the content creator never told you what to do.

Do people really do what the content creator asks them to do? Of course, yes!

Kissmetrics discovered that a Call-to-Action (CTA) placed within videos resulted in 380% more clicks.

And that's not all because emails with strong single CTAs achieve 371% more clicks than the ones without CTA.

Customer Journey Should Lead To CTA

Marketers add value to customers by helping them along the customer journey.

This is done by providing the right information to them as they journey towards making that purchase.

If you don't make it very obvious to the customer that you expect them to buy from you, you might be perceived as one of the resources to consult before making a purchase.

Stats show that 88% of consumers carry out researches before making any purchase. And if you don't encourage them to take action, they might buy from someone else. And guess what, that “someone else” probably included a compelling Call to Action.

So helping the customer along the journey is a good thing, but let that journey lead to a CTA.
