Of course, you can check your keywords manually in Google to see where you rank. HOWEVER, don't do this in a normal search window. Why? Because Google customises your search results and will show you websites you frequently visit higher in the results than it will for other people. So you might get excited seeing your site on page 1, when you're not really on page 1.

Instead, you need to open up an Incognito window in Chrome:

Or a Private window in Firefox:

However, my advice is to not spend too long manually checking keywords like this. It's okay for occasionally quickly checking one or two keywords, but if you have a lot of keywords to check you can waste a lot of time doing it this way.

Hi Marcus! I used to use whatpageofsearchamion.com but it doesn't work for me anymore for some strange reason. I'll check the Serplab site. It sounds like a good method. Thanks for the tips! Alanna

Ahh, yes, now you mention it, whatpageofsearchamion.com is having some trouble. I wonder if anyone else is having the same problem?

It hasn't been working for me for the past few months. I thought it was a temporary glitch but I guess not.

Thanks, Marcus! I thought my first blog/article was no. 2 on Google last night and was really excited (and shocked) but I didn't realize that I had to check it in private mode.

I will follow this and see how I rank in Google. I have steadily moved up in Jaaxy, so it will be interesting to see how the two vompare.

Thanks for the goodies Marcus!

For those that were thinking about getting Jaaxy, it too has a function to check your keyword and Google page rank. It works great!

ROCK ON!

Yo, Mr Kautz!

Yes, I don't currently use Jaaaaaxy, but I'm aware that it has that function.

Great tutorial. May I ask you, what keyword search tool do you use? Thanks.
