When you click on the padlock icon and view the certificate, a window will open that displays the details.
We only need the first tab of this window, which is General, and you will see a Valid from and to date towards the bottom.
If your website is using the free SiteRubix subdomain, like in this example, you should be ok to safely ignore this training, as I am pretty sure that Kyle & Carson will always ensure that this Wildcard SSL Certificate is always valid :-)
If you are using your own domain name here at Wealthy Affiliate, then you will have an SSL Certificate issued by Let's Encrypt, which is valid for three (3) months at a time.
These SSL Certificates should automatically renew every three months, but there have been occasions where this has not happened.
When an SSL Certificate is present but not valid, then your browser will display a Security Warning preventing you, and your visitors, from seeing your website content.
This will also impact your Search Engine Rankings.
When you are ready to proceed, please click on the Next Page button below.
I had no idea about this hahaha.
Thanks for this training Chrys...
By the way, if Google tends to penalize sites that aren't secure, how come I see sometimes sites not secured on the first page of Google?
Greatly appreciated!
