STEP 3: Next, you will need to add the new “Blog” page to the navigation menu.

  • In the dashboard go to “Appearance”, then to “Menus”. Here you will see a list of the most recent pages. If you don’t see the new “Blog” page in the list, click on the “Search” tab and type in “Blog” in the search box.

  • Tick the Blog box and then click on “Add to Menu” button
  • To the right of the “Pages” box you will see the “Menu Name”. Make sure the box is showing the menu where the navigation tab was placed. Most people will usually have one menu, so it should show “Menu 1” or whatever you named the menu initially.
  • Below the Menu Name section you will see the “Menu Structure”. At the bottom of the menu list you should now see the new page called “Blog”. You can now move that “Blog” box to the place you want it to be seen in the navigation menu on your website.

  • Click “Save Menu”.

Now, you have completed adding the new “Blog” page to your website.

  • Your navigation menu bar should look like this:

Hi verna what is a rolling blog. Is it like a slider?

On most of the themes, the first page a person sees when they come to your site is where all your posts are. This is what is referred to as your rolling blog. Some also call it your blog roll. You can just keep scrolling from one post to the next. This is a way that you can have your blog on your website and not have to maintain a separate website just to house your blog. You can check out this blog post of mine.

Just so you know -- I changed my landing page to a static page and put my rolling blog in another location. You can see that I have a tab in the navigation menu.

I liked this training a lot. I also like the idea of putting our affiliate marketing page as the static page on the front page because that is what we are all promoting - how to get into the world of affiliate marketing. Make your landing page relevant so your website is more definitive.

Thanks Paul. Since the beginning I always wanted to make my home page to be static, but couldn't get it to work. Glad you found it helpful.

I tried a long time ago, but I think those that were trying to help me left out some important instructions. Unfortunately, sometimes people don't give detailed instructions because they incorrectly assume that you know certain things. Therefore, I never got it to work until now.
