Some of you might forget a step and struggle with the FTP login (like Moi for example). No worries! I learned a tip for that.

For those who clicked “save password” for the wrong password and can’t login anymore:

Look down at your task bar and find a Search feature of some sort. It could be a Magnifying glass, a box that says Search or “Ask me anything”. Something like that.

Click in this search feature. Type the following:

"Regedit Run Command"

This app should appear among the options that show up (As shown above). Click to Run it. Press YES, Run or Allow to get the app going.

The Registry Editor should now be up.

Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER expand folders in the following order:

SOFTWARE > Microsoft > FTP > Accounts

In the Accounts folder, you should see your domain/URL folder. Right-click and select Delete to remove the login contents.

Close the Registry Editor and try logging into your FTP again.

Happy Website Building!

Great training, Dawn! I've done this in years past but, this was a great refresher for me!

And, you included such a simple little fix for saved "bad passwords"...!

I commend you and hope that you do some more training to keep us out of website trouble!

Be used where instead of FileZilla? The instructions here can probably applied to any FTP application.

Thank you Littlemama, I was wondering what's the point of using FileZilla since we can access site directories through FTP connection, but probably may need to educate myself more in this particular area
