So ...

Upon activation, go to Worth The Read => Reading progress to access the configuration page.

On the first "Functionality" tab you'll be able to select the display location (home page, posts, pages), the placement (top, bottom, right, left), the opacity and the placement edge offset which is very handy for fixed headers and menus that you don't want covered up:

Additionally, you can define a content offset which is handy if you have a large image at the beginning of your content that you want the progress bar to ignore, for instance. Finally, you can also include the comments in the total length of progress bar by checking the include comments option.

Next, click the "Style" tab to customize your reading progress bar.

The plugin will allow you to define the thickness of the bar and to choose the foreground and background colors of the progress bar to match your theme colors. The background color is used to fill the empty progress bar and the foreground color will be used to show progress as a user scrolls down:

Note: there is an option that will allow you to use a transparent background for the progress bar. In this case, Checking this thebackground color option will be overrided and only the foreground color will be displayed.

And of course, don’t forget to save your settings!

Finally, go to Worth The Read => Time Commitment.

Once again, you'll see two similar "Functionality" and "Style" tabs, where you can define the exact display location (before title, after title, before content), the average reading speed (by default 200 words per minute), the format of the time commitment message and of course, the style of the message (font family, size, alignment, color):

OK. Now let's see the result ...

Thank you for another educational class. I'm trying to keep the plugins number at the minimum from the reasons we all know. I wonder if the progress bar can be implemented using some code. Do you have any knowledge in this direction?

Thank you,
Maria

Hi Maria,

I'm sure that there is a way to implement something similar with a code if somebody has strong coding skills ... After all the plugin itself is nothing else, but a code ... But I can't help you with that :(

Regarding the number of your plugins, you might want to see this ...
