The Paint Bucket command is used to add a fill to a boundary area.



When you click on the icon it will open up some new options for selecting fill type and color.



This is where we select transparent from the Pattern selector.



Once you have selected Transparent it's a simple case of clicking on any white part of the background.

Next page shows how to set the Fuzz to enhance your image.
