Adding a PDF Download Link To An Image File

If you would like to add a download link to an image file the process is very similar to adding a text hyperlink.

First of all we need an image file that we intend to use. In this example I have created an image file with a download button that I will use to link my PDF to.

We simply need to upload the image file to WordPress as we normally would when adding images to a post or a page.

Next click the image that we just added to our post or page and click the pencil icon to edit it.

Select "custom URL" in the drop down menu and then paste in the URL of your PDF file. If you would like the PDF or eBook to download in a new window when it is clicked on, simply select the option to "open link in a new tab" as shown above.

Click update and your link will be added to your image.

All that is left to do is to publish your post or page for your download link to become available to all of your readers.
