Debates are still out on the extent of damage, but it is known that computers, laptops, cell phones, and microwaves emit electromagnetic radiation which have the potential to cause damage in our bodies.

Some people work long hours in front of a computer and end up feeling disoriented, while others feel fatigue.

Remedies

Suggested remedies include:

  • Having cactus, usually as a potted plant in your work area. Cactus has been known to absorb ambient radiation and release oxygen. This is also true for spider plant and sansevieria.

  • Washing your face with soap and water after using the computer
  • Walking barefoot on the earth for 20 minutes at the end of each day will realign our energy fields.

The work , or play, might be exciting and we find it hard to tear ourselves away. We are valuable human beings and the thousands we earn doing computer work might not be sufficient to pay for any long term damage to our health.

This most important thing with all these suggestions is that we should not just know about them, but incorporate them into our daily living as regular habits.

Let us plan to take care of ourselves and be consistent in that action.

Good suggestions, Joy, and ones I need to remember. However, no barefoot walks for me -- too much snow on the ground.

Thanks for sending this post. Where could I get one of those eye charts? Or should I try to enlarge this one?

Hi FKelso

Just enter "Tibetan eye chart" in Google. There are many images of them and you can download, enlarge and print.

I live in the Caribbean so barefoot walks work for me (ha).

Thanks for your comments.
