Move

People work with their computers in bed, at a desk, in their laps and whatever position they choose, they are likely to spend several hours in that position. Being seated for several hours is stressful. To counteract that stress you should get up, stand and move around at one hour intervals to provide and maintain good circulation, to get the muscles to change position and relieve tension with a good strectch.

Good Posture

The above is the suggested posture when working on the computer. It is also supported by experts in ergonomic studies.

Slouching will cause back pain and neck pains and will result in repetitive stress injuries. The correct thing to do is to sit right and move periodically.

It is also recommended that people who sit to work should take on at least 30 minutes moderate walking each day.

See the next page to look at how ths kind of work affects your eyes.

Good suggestions, Joy, and ones I need to remember. However, no barefoot walks for me -- too much snow on the ground.

Thanks for sending this post. Where could I get one of those eye charts? Or should I try to enlarge this one?

Hi FKelso

Just enter "Tibetan eye chart" in Google. There are many images of them and you can download, enlarge and print.

I live in the Caribbean so barefoot walks work for me (ha).

Thanks for your comments.
