Over several years, we have begun to spend longer hours at the computer. All systems have been converted to digital action, and applications facilitate the work flow. It follows then that we are spending most of our waking hours in front of a computer. We are happy for the results we get from this activity but then we should ask " Are there any health risks in working at the computer?" and " Are there ways we can safely get the work done?"

In order to provide ourselves with answers, we will look at 4 topics:

  • Our physical bodies
  • Our eyes
  • Radiation
  • Habits that can prevent or reverse potential damage

At the end of the day, our health comes first.

Good suggestions, Joy, and ones I need to remember. However, no barefoot walks for me -- too much snow on the ground.

Thanks for sending this post. Where could I get one of those eye charts? Or should I try to enlarge this one?

Hi FKelso

Just enter "Tibetan eye chart" in Google. There are many images of them and you can download, enlarge and print.

I live in the Caribbean so barefoot walks work for me (ha).

Thanks for your comments.
