There's actually a few different ways you can create a highlighted word(or words) on your site. Some involve the use of a plugin, others require you to add code to your site.

Plugins
Plugins slow your site down.

Code
Adding code to your theme's files can be difficult. It can also kill your site if you don't know what you're doing...and I don't know what I'm doing.

I don't like to go to the code page afraid of screwing it up

I'm the same way, but if you do it like this(in text editor) you can't mess anything up. If you do it wrong, it will show immediately and you can fix it. But it won't mess up the site or anything else.

Hi Chris, you can also just place the colour code you get from the colour chart ie #ffb071 or whatever? I've got highlighting on one of my pages, think it was from the Tiny editor that I added to the kitchen sink in WP. Thanks for this info.
