What should my video be about?
There are many ways that you can use video to better engage your audience. For example:
- Use it to create excitement - Perhaps you've just launched a new book or ebook. Maybe you can use your video to summarise what it's about and how it can help its readers. Use it to tell them how much it will be and where to buy it. You could even have a grand 'cover reveal' live on your video!
- Perform interviews - If you're a visitor to conventions, conferences, seminars, shows or exhibitions, then these are perfect opportunities to get face-to-face with other people of interest in your industry. On the spot interviews and vox-pops are usually the most interesting as it catches the interviewee off guard.
- How-to posts - These are straight-forward videos about how the viewer can learn something new, or perhaps solve a problem. The videos in the classrooms and courses here at Wealthy Affiliate are fine examples of this. These take the viewer through a step-by-step lesson, which by the end will leave them knowing, doing or maybe fixing something, simply by using this new knowledge that they didn't have before watching your video. Such posts are usually PC screen or 'talking head' based.
- Shoot a performance or a reading - Fairly self-explanatory this one. This might simply be a passage reading from a book, a newspaper or magazine that is relevant to your website's niche. It could even be a reading or excerpt from your own latest blog. Alternatively, it could be a live news or presentation event that you're attending - note that permission should be first sought from the performer before you make any publication on your site!
- Bring your written posts to life - Videos can also be used to give some atmosphere or feeling to your written blog posts. Sometimes words simply don't get across what video can in terms of power and emotion. Video helps you do this and enables you to communicate a tangible passion to your audience,
