The Author Bio:
- Did you custom write your author bio on the guest blogging website? If it's a WordPress site, as you know, you can allow "Contributors" or "Author" roles. This allows others to sign up within your WordPress and create their own bio page. Write it with the site and readers in mind.
- Did you include the allowed social media profile links? Within most guest posting websites (typically within the author profile of WordPress) you are allowed to include your various social profile links. This can help the readers Find and Follow you!
Finishing Up After you Post:
- Did you share your post out to all your social networks? You should have previously mentioned that you would to the website owner. This helps their website and helps YOUR website. Do it immediately after publishing. Again the next day and again a few days later. Heck, do it again in a couple of weeks. Bookmark all you guest posting articles for future sharing and to show experience to new guest posting opportunities.
- Did you respond to all the comments? Be sure and subscribe to the commenting thread for your newly published post when available - you'll get an email each time a comment is left and you should respond quickly.
Conclusion
While others will debate on the time and effort spent with guest blogging, I can only say this. It has helped my website traffic tremendously and other website owners use this or some form of it to network with other website owners, build their brand and build themselves as an authority. When done correctly, this method of backlinks and cascading website traffic is not only powerful, but long-term.
