Report Duplicate Content to Google

Once you’ve been able to figure out all of your copied content, it is high time you visited the Google DMCA page and choose the “Submit a legal request” option.

Now, select all of the other options based on your own case

On the following page select the below options:

  • Reason: I have discovered content that may infringe my content copyright.
  • Google Products: BlogSpot/Blogger
  • Copyright: Yes, I am the rightful owner or I’m authorized to stand in favor of the owner of a full right that is apparently infringed.
  • Work in question: As the case may be.

Once you’ve done all of these, you’ll receive a link which will redirect you to a page where you are going to report those pages on the Blogger/BlogSpot blog that is duplicating your blog content.

Note that you’ll have to choose “Web Search” as the maiden option if the blog copying your content is not Blogger/BlogSpot.

The links for the different forms are as shown below:

Simply fill out the form and report those links. You can report several links using a single form.

Hi Israel, thanks a lot for this training. I just try to get my head around this. I just found out that my title and feature image is stolen by an 'adult site'. I didn't steal my content, the site not even had content just images.

I realy want the image they stole removed from there site though as I don't want to be linked in any way and not in any way to this site as there 'adult images' they use are hihgly improperty.

Can I use the form to report this in this case or should I do something else as only the feature image got stolen?(I made the image on my own phone)
Thanks for your advice.

Oh, most welcome, Jude! Of course, you can use the form to report that site to Google for the stolen image. Google will issue them a takedown notice and the image will be removed from their site. Or if they prove so stubborn, they may get completely removed from Google search results.

Hey Carol, thanks for stopping by! You're most welcome on board. Though you don't have to worry at all about those who may want to copy, steal or republish content originally published by you elsewhere as they do this out of ignorance, you should endeavor to protect your copyright lest you don't suffer legal consequences due to copyright infringement without copying anyone at all.

Simply leverage the vital information in this resource anytime you are 100% convinced that the whole of your content is duplicated and republished elsewhere and make sure you are always 100% sure that this truly happened (not with only a line or phrase copied at all as this can naturally occur on blogs of the same niche without copying or stealing content from one another).

If you need to know anything about getting your copied content restored back to you or perhaps having your lost or stolen traffic restored back to your pages, don't hesitate to let me know.

Excellent! This has been the bane of my site existence. I spend more time trying to protect it, rather than build and it is exhausting. Thank you so much.

But this is for me not accurate and not practical unless you find someone duplicated the whole topic. Because there are millions of posts out there, you might report someone and harm them, even though they didn't really copy your content!

I agree with you that we need to preserve our effort but still, when you have the same niche as many others, it is inevitable to write about the same topic or part of it sooner or later. Therefore, it is not the best choice to report anyone, you think they have stolen your content. if they copied the whole thing then it is a different story.

It is just my opinion, but if someone stole the whole thing you can report them, but finding the same sentences or topics is normal for websites with the same niche. So I am not really happy to spread such training without more details about what to report and what not to report, to avoid confusion and harming innocent bloggers. Some people might use this training to remove the competition from their way.

Accept my opinion.

Thanks for your comment, drmohfa91! Yes, it makes a lot of sense that you don't bother reporting a copying blogger so far everything is not copied but, at the same time, there are millions of struggling veterans out there who copy content originally published by other people doing this out of ignorance and if your content was copied this way, such copied content can possibly rank higher there than from the original source that you have and, for content plagiarism and copyright infringement, you stand a chance to lose the traffic on that post or may have it completely removed from the search.

And as I mentioned in the tutorial, Google makes frantic effort to detect who owns the original material and who copied but that does not take effect in most cases. Do you realize that, due to the millions of copyright infringement cases Google has handled so far and it's still handling over and over again, Google has decided to get tougher with such cases and that even if you've never copied content from anyone at all, you can still be reported to Google - meaning you can be served a DMCA takedown notice all of a sudden even when you don't expect? But what would you do to prove your innocence realizing the fact that Google would always require sufficient proof or docs for you to be exonerated from the claim?

That's why you may consider protecting your copyright though you wouldn't have to bother reporting or harming a niche-related blogger so far you don't find the whole of your original material copied and republished elsewhere.

Your opinion is equally mine and I don't deliberately look out for copying bloggers purposely to harm anyone because I don't even have the time for doing that at all realizing that several pieces of the content might be identical so far the niches are related, but may not hesitate to do anything humanly possible to protect my copyright.

Try to go through the resource below at leisure. Thanks for your contribution! You are highly cherished.
