Look at this!
I am already ranked position one page one on this keyword phrase with my website!
If I would not have looked in front of the keyword to see what was there and just settled for the page three results from the tool and said to myself "good numbers, lets rock" I would have ended up writing and ranking an article to compete against myself!
There are way too many available keywords to try to rank under than to waste time competing with yourself.
Always remember an article can rank on many natural keywords that you are not even aware of so this research is mandatory.
Now you could go ahead and rank that article on the above premise anyway thinking it will do just that, rank a bunch of natural keywords but I would rather go for a different keyword or phrase since I am already there with another source.
Either way, be aware of what your competition is!

Now, I make a page and it appears on my own site within Google 1-2 top pages. However, it always competes with Peakware, and the irony is that it competes with MY OWN contributions at Peakware (my own text there about the same mountain). What to do, have to live with this. Jovo
