But let's say you have a Mac? How then are you going to create a screenshot? Well, believe it or not Macs already have a built-in shortcut that you can press for this. And the major bonus is your picture is automatically saved to the desktop!

The default shortcut for a screenshot on Mac is Command + Shift + 4, after which you will need to select the area you wish to capture and once you've let go of the new crosshair cursor your screenshot will save to the desktop.

Or if you would like an easier shortcut you could go into your settings/system preferences and then click the keyboard icon and head over to shortcuts from there you can manipulate the Screen Shots options any way you like. See below for my prefered settings:

Now if you wish to crop the image you simply open it up in Preview and drag your cursor around the area you would like to see then press command + K to crop, followed by command + s to save your new image.
