Hey,

What's the deal with this? ... you may say

It is simple, you search on google, for example - ''free images''. Find a site like pexels.com and download free full rights images for safe use on your blog. That's all, you don't have to fear copyright...

https://www.copyrightlaws.com/legally-using-images/

I would answer: Yes, you're right - job done! Or...

Let me say these:

  • you are not the only one who's using that file
  • search engines know that
  • it is duplicate content - which you don't have to worry about, no penalty ... nor real use for your rankings though, or.. better - not highest potential for ranking (which I am guessing you want)

This is very important, and please let me prove that images on your blog/site are bringing you traffic... or not (in case you don't make it in the right way)

Just go on your Search Console account and from the 'performance' menu, change or choose the search filter from 'web' which I think is default, to search type 'image'

You see that the report is now showing the number of images views and clicks you aquired from image search.

Now, I am pretty sure that everyone got some results, but it can be much better, and this is about in the tutorial - making the most from your pictures, make them unique so you'll get more traffic than usual bloggers - be on top of them!

How to do that?

The steps to follow:

  1. Find free images (to be clear, if you already use your own images and never need to get them from somewhere else, then... congrats! This training is not for you :P )
  2. Make them unique - make them yours
  3. Erase properties - meta data - info

After these steps you'll have unique images = new content in the online world = better rankings

So, let's start!

I am pretty sure that the photoshop app is available for Mac too. About meta data removal for Mac:
Open the photo using 'Preview'
Go to 'Tools' in your menu.
Select 'Show Inspector'
Select the (i) tab.
Click the 'Exif' tab and remove the data ;)

Ok, from what I see, PhotoScape X and Gimp are free photo editors for Mac PC.
Doesn't really matter which one you use, they will do the job ;)
