I had previously made this a blog post, so if it sounds familiar that is why. I was recommended to make it into training and thought I would follow through.
I had come across a few questions about choosing your first niche. Some are just looking for something that is an "obvious" choice to make money. While it is true that some niches may have a bigger market and perhaps more products to advertise, it doesn't make it the best market to choose. The competition could be much higher, and when starting out, that can be a bit daunting.
My first mistake was choosing a niche that was not quite right for me. It wasn't even an "obvious" money make. It was too broad, and not something I had a lot to share about, so working on the site became difficult and uninspiring.
Now I keep putting the quotes (") around the word obvious and that is because no niche is an obvious money maker. You have to work and build and fail and push through and strive to succeed.
When you choose a niche that you truly are passionate about, composing content for the site is generally a breeze, and a lot of fun. Of course there will be speed bumps and times of frustration, but in the long run, you will be much happier.
With a niche you are passionate about, you are able to become an authority, someone people can trust, because clearly you know what you are talking about, and it will show through in your work.
Now how do you choose that perfect niche? Follow on...
