Compliance with the EU directives induces some basic steps:
1. Work out what cookies your site sets
2. Work out what they are used for
3. Tell your visitors why and how you use cookies
4. Give them a choice to accept/control their own.
For some it might be necessary to do a cookie audit. Since some cookies are not compliant with European laws and infringing the privacy of your viewers and clients. You can google for them according to your needs.
Tip:
This being said, always add an 'unubscribe'or 'manage your subscriptions' button or link to your mails. It is part of European law and customs. And adds to your notoriety.

Very interesting. And thank you. I was not really aware that WA is global; but that pretty much answers that. Great info.

On your Lesson 2, did you really mean "usubscribe" or should it have been "unsubscribe"?? I am NOT trying to play silly buggers,
I am so new to all this the question is legitimate...."usubscribe" could perhaps be short for "you subscribe"....since everyone now wants to abbreviate or initialize the English language!!
