Want to know something really cool about email marketing...
It works within ANY industry!
An email marketing campaign is also known as a funnel. You are essentially taking traffic, whether broad or relevant and putting them through a serious or iterations that eventually takes them to the funnel exit, or the point of making a sale.
An email marketing funnel is automated through your follow-up sequence. You can choose essentially any industry that you are interested in or you think that has potential, and create an entire email marketing campaign around this. Think of all the industries out there. Think of all the possibilities. Each industry could equate to $1000 per day, while some industries will yield even more than this.
Do a quick search within dmoz.org and you will see how many niches there really are. 100,000's that are very easy to build an email marketing campaign around.
The flow of an email marketing funnel
Not to confuse you, a funnel is essentially the process of your email marketing campaign. You get the traffic (from whichever source), get someone on your list, build a relationship, and then sell to these people. That is a funnel in a nutshell.
Every single funnel follows the same flow. It does not matter what industry, a funnel will work. As long as there
is an audience, there are products to promote (if none, you can create
your own), and you can build a connection with these people, you can
create a long term stream of income through your funnel
Keeping your funnels SIMPLE
One of the biggest problems that people have with email marketing is that they tend to overcomplicate things. Start small and then build your campaigns up, like any successful business. You should not put in 50 follow-ups until you have conversion data, you know which email converts and have a good idea why.
Start with a small follow-up sequence and then build on it based on your testing. 7-10 emails initially is just fine, build your list, gather the results, refine, and THEN start building longer term.
Also, start with a couple of pages, don't build a giant site...at first you will typically not know the perfect formula as this will take some refinement. Every industry will react different to emails, so you need to get the formula down before you scale up the funnel.
