If you are like the majority of people that save images to their WordPress Media Library with the intention of only using it in the size they upload it, making the changes described on the previous page will help your overall website performance. Now when I upload images, WordPress does not duplicate them.
As seen in the above image you can see the differences in images from the Media Library that the EWWW Image Optimizer reduced. It optimized 3 sizes from images uploaded months ago with the default WordPress settings and now optimized only 1 size after my settings changes.
This easy little fix to the Media Library Image Sizes settings will save you a ton of space in unwanted image sizes on your website. And if you have an image optimizer like EWWW already installed, your one image uploaded will be further optimized as you save it, helping to keep your website speed efficient.

Also do the images added in the new Content feature take care of size automatically or do they need to be fixed too.
Thank you for this training, Robert. Wish I would have known this before I had so many images. :)
Anyway, I'd like to add a well-known and recommended plugin to my current site as a test to see how it works in removing 2/3 (not actually of course) of my Library. I really don't care what happens to this site version as it will be replaced in a week or so.
