Hi Terea, Yes I have a question. (An abundance of them actually) When I opened up my emails this morning I noticed coincidentally at the same time as you sent me "Don't be Faceless, a shadow of a person......" that my ranking had risen by 50 points which was part of the shock. I am assuming that the two were not connected but I would like to know what could have caused that. Any ideas.

No the two were not exactly connected. As you work in WA, ask questions and respond to others you accumulate points. Depending on how much you do and how much others do, your number decreases as you make headway. All the number really says is how active you are in the system. Nobody knows what the actual algorithm that determines your number is except the owners and the code writer. Did I explain that clearly enough? It is the subject of great debate here at WA, but in all honesty, the number is for yourself and for how hard you want to push yourself to get really involved. Rank gives you no privileges, no discount and no special thank you notes, from the management. It does give you the ability to help others a bit more because most people think it establishes credibility.

if your website is based around you as well, you can always double the gravatar with the favicon...cool stuff, and yes the gravatar does make it personal..

Thanks Andy, that may be a great idea of combining the two. Old Mule just Blogged about Favicons. I do believe it starts here:

Not sure what you mean, but if you want to know where I got the information, it was at Gravatar.com Let me know if this actually answered your question.

Too easy Terea. My gravatar is linked to 2 emails of mine. I think it does look better having your image next to your comments.
