So what shouldn't you do?
- Never address meaningless rants.
- Never put up with vulgar language
- Never make a reply that is filled with emotion or adds nothing to the conversation.
- Never comment about blocking, deleting censoring, or editing someone's comments. You become the villain of free speach then.
- Never bulk delete all trolls because what they don't write about you here they will write somewhere and it could bring diwzens of them back to your site.
The best response is to make a blanket comment on your integrity and let them fade out without direct response.
Trolls are not fun, some like Grammar trolls though can hurt your feelings but ultimately help your blogging if you look to the core complaints as positive feedback. Just thank them for taking the time to notice, silently fix the issue(s) and they will move on.
Please Don't Feed The Trolls, they Live Off Anger And Hate!

Thanks for sharing. Great advice.
I once read it doesn't hurt to write down your feelings BUT DON'T POST IT! Just get it off your chest, have a cool down period, and then go back and construct a reply as in your example. What you would say in the heat of the moment, you most likely wouldn't say once you peeled yourself off the ceiling and looked at the comment objectively.
