These days everything is automated and made easy to send any number of emails at a time, From 1 message to tens of thousands and at the same cost.

Carriers like;

Constant Contact
Mail Chimp
Get Responce
Send grid etc (PS in my order of prefference)

Up to 500 addresses is generally free and then you start to pay at about $100 per month for 10,000 emails stored , Sending is mostly free.

They manage optout messages and let you subdivide the list into interest groups.

An added advantage is an included Auto responder

It was interesting that I am currently doing an email list and had to go back to my writing and do it properly, shortcuts don't work.

This training was done nearly a year past but not much has changed. Email is still the cheapest and best way of contact to a list. I have certainly gone further with a Newsletter concept for a better open rate.
