If you remember from the previous lesson, we dramatically changed the look of an image of a sunflower. It looks so fancy but was so simple to do! Here is the image as we had it at the end of the last lesson
In this lesson we are going to learn how to enhance it even more by adding some shapes and word art.
To insert a shape, click on the Insert tab and select Shape
As you can see, there are many choices of things for you to insert. You might be wondering why you would want to insert a shape, and the answer is that it could help draw someone's eye to a specific part of your image. You could also add text inside the shape.
I'm going to choose the Vertical Scroll (in the Stars and Banners section). Once I insert that image, I'll be able to move and resize it to anywhere I choose.
When the shape is selected, a Format menu that is specific to shapes displays. I selected a color for my scroll.
Next we'll insert some text to go with the shape, go to Insert -> Textbox -> Simple Text Box. When it gets inserted, you can just go ahead and type anything you want.
To format the text, just highlight it and use the normal Microsoft Word formatting tab. You can change the size, color, font, and more.
The textbox will have a white background and a black border, which we don't want in this case, so lets remove it.
Right click on the border of the text box and click Format Shape. Click on Fill and then select the option for No Fill. Then click on Line Color and click No Line.
Here's what I came up with:
I'm going to have fun with this. It's just what I've been looking for!
Thanks again :)
